I think that Nina is the most complete and wonderful ballerina there is today. Every time I watch her she amazes me.

Question: will her private company ever tour in the US, or will more videos be published? Answer: Difficult to tell, there are probably people working on it, though. On videos: we hope so,maybe of her tour of Japan next year?

It's lots of fun to read it! In her documentary video which was released here in Japan, she also said that her home was the Bolshoi and she thought she could dance much better at the Bolshoi Theatre. I have been to only the Kirov (Maryinsky), the Danchenko in Moscow, and the Paris Opera other than the Bolshoi, but I feel that it is only the Bolshoi Theatre which has something like magic that attracts audience and never let them feel they want to leave there.

It's also very interesting that Nina mentioned Svetlana Lunkina in her interview. I saw her (Lunkina's) first stage as Giselle at the Bolshoi in 1997, but I didn't think she was so special. Of course, I didn't think she was especially bad, though. I know she is extremely charming in looking and that is very important for a ballerina. However, she is still too "weak" at the techniques. When she dances as Giselle, she's not so bad, to say her weakness in technique won't be conspicuous in Giselle. But in Don Quixote as Kitri, I just can't see her stage without getting so nervous. In her performance as Kitri there is no flow between one element and another. I am very sorry for her that she "has to" dance as Kitri. I can't feel at all that she is enjoying dancing as Kitri. When Maria Aleksandrova appears as non-leading part in the same performance, we will definitely be confused that which ballerina is taking the leading part. I considered many times for myself why Vladimir Vasiliev and Ekaterina Maximova let Lunkina take the leading part so fast, so quickly. Their affection towards her is extraordinary, I think. Do you know Vladimir Vasiliev filming her performance in Tokyo with his camera all the time and when she appears on the stage Ekaterina Maximova was always sitting and seeing her with the audience in Tokyo? In my own opinion, the only reason they like her so much is that she very much looks like Ekaterina Maximova as young. I really hope Lunkina will be another great Bolshoi ballerina, but at this moment I don't want to see it in her performance. On the contrary Maria Aleksandrova is excellent! she is still 23 or so, but she is already a "ballerina"! I feel a new legend has just started.

Nina is a great ballerina we all know. Let me tell you something about her as a human being. My wife and I met her only once in Houston, after her dazzling dancing performance just for a few minutes but it was enough to understand what humanity she has. She seemed as an old friend. She was so attentive, regardful and sincere that evening, she left unforgettable memory in our heart. Nina we like you as a one of the best ballerina in the world but we love you as a human being.

I am 16 years old and in the 11th grade. I live in Michigan, U.S.A. I am doing a research paper for a computer class I am taking. During my lunch break of today I saw several pictures of you on the internet.

When I was just a little girl of 4 years old, I wanted to be a great famous ballet dancer. Of course it never happened, although I went to the ballet academy in Rotterdam when I was 11 years old. But very soon, I started to realise there was no future for me and I quit. It's a dream of every young girl but by most of the girls their dream won't come true. Now am I a secretary at a international lawyers office. I love my job, but I'm still dreaming of being a dancer although I will never be.

I think, half a year ago I saw an interview with you together with Natalia Bessmertnova and other famous ballet dancers. I was really impressed by you. The way you danced, the way you're doing your carreer. It's fantastic. Also the way you're grand mother reacted on you. She really loves you.

I saw Ms. Ananiashvili in Giselle last night, June 2. It was very very special. There was everything, expression, power, precision, control, grace and profound beauty. I had shivers down my spine and tears in my eyes, I just did not want it to end.

In particular, I believe that I have never seen her equal in the adagio movements, some seem to treat these as somehow less than the "spectacles", the showy parts, but through her they were totally sublime. All of her dancing was glorious but those slow movements were as no-one else that I have seen!

I think that Nina is an extraordinary dancer. She is so beautiful and graceful when she dances. I really admire her. I am 12 years old, i am a dancer as well, i hope some day i can be as good and graceful and perfect as she seems.

How beautiful this web site is! I enjoyed to see each section, especially "illustrated bio". I envy everyone who could see Nina's Don Q at ABT's opening. But understand Japanese fan like me is so lucky that we can see Nina soon at ABT's Japan tour in July and Bolshoi's tour in October. I will see her "La Bayadere" (ABT) at July 9, but I cannot wait anymore! Kitri in October at Bolishoi's Japan tour.

I saw Nina's Kitri at opening night gala of ABT last night (4/26/99). It was so wonderful to see her again this season at ABT. I have been her fan for nearly ten years since I saw her performance for the first time in Tokyo, Japan at Ballet Festival. I think I am very very fortunate to be able to see her performances in New York. I try to see her performances as often as possible. I am very glad to find your web site. I don't know if Nina do read feedback and comments from this website. I'd just like to say that the last time I've seen her was on BBC OMNIBUS TOUR of the Bolshoi in 1986. I still have the video tape and still remember her interview about her background, her grandmother, the performance and the perfection in relation to the music played in Don Quixote. I wonder if Nina has been to London to do some performance?
